Arsenal v/s Portsmouth 16th December, 2006

Arsenal meet Portsmouth on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium. Half the season has gone now Pompey stands on a handome fourth place and gunners one above with a slender one point lead. the winner of this match will have an edge over the other in the table with the difference being so less. Pompey have a strong back line with David James between the bars and x-Arsenal center back Sol Campbell paired with Linvoy Primus in the centre with in-form Matthew Taylor at left back and on loan Chelsea right back Glen Jhonson. This defence did not concede for the first five games this season when pompey were on top of the table. They also have the former gunner Nwankwo Kanu as the top scorer in the league accompanied by either Lualua or Benjani.
For the gunners Gallas shud be back at the center of defence and Rosicky should also be back in the midfeild but as Wenger said " both have a small small chance of playing". Henry is now suffering with a hamstring injury and will not be back before Christmas.

The probable Arsenal line up:

-----------------Lehmann------------------

Eboue-----Toure----Djourou------Clichy

----------------Gilberto--------------------

----------Fabregas --------Ljungberg-------

-----Hleb----------------------Van Persie--

---------------Adebayor--------------------
